Adult Education Program of Studies
For more than 30 years, the Beaver
County Career & Technology Center has been providing training to meet
the unique needs and circumstances of adult learners in Beaver County
and Surrounding areas. Day and evening programs are available for dislocated
workers, persons wishing to upgrade their skills for career growth, and
for those seeking to start new careers in today’s ever changing and increasingly
technical job market.
DAY PROGRAM
Our school is dedicated to providing a program of high quality, cutting-edge
technical training integrated with a strong academic education and an
emphasis on critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, and team-building
skills. The curriculum is closely tied to the needs of business and industry,
providing for skills needed to be successful. Courses are available in
a wide variety of career fields, including construction, healthcare, manufacturing,
graphic communication, automotive technology, personal services, information
technology, and others. Several courses offered at the Beaver County CTC
prepare students for state or federal certification exams in various fields
(Culinary Arts, HVAC, Health Occupations, Business Information Systems,
Cosmetology, Automotive Mechanics). Specific information about the 18
individual programs can be found under the PROGRAM OF STUDIES link on
the BCCTC web site. Most programs are approved for tuition assistance
with the Workforce Investment Act through sources such as Office of Vocational
Rehabilitation and Job Training for Beaver County, found at Career Link
of Beaver County. In addition, the Veteran’s Administration also offers
tuition assistance. Adults enrolled in the day program will complete 900
hours of instruction and will be awarded a 2-year certificate. Half day
or full day sessions are offered to accommodate individual needs. Half
day sessions will require 2 full school years to complete, while full
day sessions allow for completion in only 9 months.
NIGHT PROGRAM
Evening courses provide a cost effective way to learn new skills on a
part-time basis. Classes include theory and hands-on learning opportunities
with experienced trainers in a casual atmosphere. Classes meet one night
per week for 3 hours. After completion of thirteen weeks of instruction
(39 hours), the student will receive a certificate of completion. A listing
of the classes offered and times are listed below.
