 Automotive Mechanics

Vocational Automotive Mechanics Program is a two-year course which provides students with a working knowledge of the automotive business, such as parts sales, maintenance, repair, and dealership operation. The emphasis is on the maintenance of automotive engines, as well as the study of the engine accessory systems and their relationship to the engine. The course of instruction includes a basic study of standard and power brake units, suspension system, steering system, wheels, tires, bearing frames, wheel alignment and wheel balancing procedures. Proper safety habits are stressed throughout the course.

The students will receive special emphasis in trouble-shooting, engine tune-up, engine repair and emission control procedures. Training will also include use of technical manuals and a variety of hand tools, scan tools and power tools.
