Course Description:
This course will teach the
participant the basics of using Microsoft Word to perform various word
processing functions applicable for business and private applications
through instruction, examples, demonstrations and project assignments.
Learning Outcomes:
- Participants will be able to use the advanced
functionality of the Microsoft Word program.
- Participants will be able to perform critical thinking
to create documents to address their written communication, standard
and e-mailing applications using Microsoft Word and mail merge
functions.
- Participants will be able to apply advanced formatting
to enhance the use of the documents they create.
- Participants will be able to analyze and correct
document errors.
- Participants will be able to display their documents
in a HTML form.
- Participants will be able to integrate their documents
into other Microsoft programs.
- Participants will be able to create a basic web page
using Microsoft Word.

- Review of using Microsoft Windows operating system
(95, 98, NT, 2000 or XP).
- Word window elements.
- Using the Office Assistant.
- Using the
View menu.
- Use of Word menus and toolbars.
- Use of mouse and keyboard in Word.
- Creating a new Word document.
- Making simple corrections to a Word document:
insertion point edit data, undo and redo, and clearing contents.
- Copy, cut and paste functions.
- Move text using drag and drop.
- Working with shortcut key combinations.
- Move text from one document to the next.
- Spelling and thesaurus tools.
- Saving and closing a Word document.
- Using the Save As command.
- Font formats using tool bar and Format/Fonts to change
font size, color, style and high light.
- Text alignment and the tab key.

Course Description:
This course will teach the
participant the basics of using Microsoft Excel to perform various
mathematical functions applicable for business and private applications
through instruction, examples, demonstrations and project assignments.

- Participants will be able to use the basic
functionality of the Microsoft Excel program.
- Participants will be able to perform critical thinking
to create spreadsheets to address their calculating needs using
Microsoft Excel.
- Participants will be able to apply formatting to
enhance the use of the spreadsheets they create.
- Participants will be able to analyze the spreadsheet
data.
- Participants will be able to display their data in a
chart form.
- Participants will be able to integrate their Microsoft
Excel spreadsheets into other Microsoft programs.

to create a multi-slide presentation.
