Masonry/Bricklaying

Instructor: Mr. Mark LaMont

This two-year course is designed to give students the proper procedures, methods and learning experiences concerned with the cutting, chipping, and setting in position of concrete blocks, brick, stone and glass blocks, using bonding materials and hand tools. Training will be given in measuring distances from reference points and marking guidelines on working surfaces thus allowing the bricklayer to lay out his work. In addition, the student will be taught and trained in reading architectural plans, planning and estimating. Students should have some knowledge of fractions and be able to read a 6" rule.
