Articulation Agreement

with Community College of Beaver County

AMENDMENT TO THE EXISTING ARTICULATION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE BCCTC AND CCBC

The following is an amendment to the existing Articulation Agreement between the Beaver County Area Vocational Technical School (BCCTC) and Community College of Beaver County (CCBC) establishing a cooperative educational program that will expand the CCBC program offerings to include a number of career tracks currently available at the BCCTC.  This will be accomplished by accepting students into the Associate in Applied Technology Degree program.  Listed below are a number of elements that make up the cooperative program:

 ·        The Community College of Beaver County will offer additional associate degree programs in a number of Career/Technical programs by utilizing the skills and competencies obtained at the BCCTC.

·        Students who complete the approved programs of study at BCCTC can be subsequently enrolled by the CCBC and receive an Associate Degree in the area of concentration (career track) by completing the defined degree requirements.

·        Graduates in defined BCCTC programs will receive twenty-four (24) advanced standing credits toward an Associate Degree in Applied Technology.  The student must complete all remaining academic credits outlined by CCBC for specific career tracks. (60 credits minimum)

·        Students must meet the following conditions for enrollment:

The BCCTC graduate must successfully pass the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) to qualify for admittance into the program.

Students passing the NOCTI in their specific career track have met or surpassed the minimum competencies as determined by the PDE.  Students that pass both the written and performance portions of the NOCTI are awarded a certificate by the PDE which is signed by the Governor and the PA Secretary of Education.

Students must meet all requirements for admission to CCBC and their respective program of interest.  They must register for and complete a minimum of fifteen (15) credits to earn a degree from the Community College of Beaver County.

The Community College of Beaver County will accept the BCCTC credentials for a period of two years from the date of graduation.  The student is responsible for presenting all credentials and certification at the time of admission to the college.

The following is a listing of BCCTC programs that qualify for the Associate Degree Program:

AMT/Robotics

Electrical Occupations

Air Conditioning & Refrigeration

Electronics

Automotive Body Repair

Greenhouse/Landscaping

Automotive Mechanics

Machine Tool Technology

Carpentry

Masonry/Bricklaying

Computerized Materials Handling

Consideration for the approval of additional BCCTC programs will be reviewed on an individual basis.  Special consideration and articulation agreements will be evaluated in areas where both the BCCTC and CCBC offer similar programs.
